Musketeer goaltender Kyle Hayton stopped 34 of 36 shots in a 2-0 loss to Waterloo on Wednesday.

The Sioux City Musketeers lost their opener at the USHL Fall Classic, 2-0, to Waterloo on Wednesday night. The Musketeers are now 1-3 in the preseason.
After a scoreless first period, Waterloo scored the only two goals of the game in the second period. Zach Sanford scored a power play goal at the 9:15 mark. Tim Lappin scored again with just 1:54 left in the period.
Waterloo had twice as many shots as Sioux City, 36-18 and the Muskies had just three shots in the second period. Musketeer goaltender Kyle Hayton stopped 34 of 36 shots.
The Muskies play Sioux Falls on Thursday at 7:00 PM to wrap up their preseason schedule. The regular season opener is September 20th in Fargo, North Dakota. The home opener is Saturday, October 5th against Sioux Falls.
