UPDATE: Authorities release the name of man who drowned near Onawa, Iowa


Monona County authorities say they have recovered the body of a man Thursday morning near Onawa, Iowa. 

Family members say 43-year-old Garrett Grant of Macy, Nebraska may have been trying to swim across Blue Lake at Lewis and Clark State Park west of Onawa.

He disappeared shortly before noon Wednesday.

Emergency crews searched for nine hours using divers, sonar and cadaver dogs on Wednesday and Thursday morning, they found his body.

Grant's body was recovered this morning near the south boat ramp by members of the Monona County Sheriff's Department and the Monona County EMA.
