Sioux City father will go to trial after a shooting and police chase

A Sioux City man will go to trial in December on charges stemming from a shooting and police chase.

42-year old Issac Rayford, faces charges including Aggravated Domestic Abuse, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Child Endangerment and traffic charges.

Court documents show Rayford was arguing with his son, in Sioux City Morningside neighborhood, when he pointed a 38-caliber handgun at him and said he was going to kill him.

Police say the gun accidentally went off.  No one was hurt.

Police pursued Rayford, after he drove off with his grandchild's mother and the infant.

The pursuit ended peacefully near the Gordon Drive Viaduct.

Rayford's son has also been charged in the incident.
