A farmer's paradise at the Clay County Fair

With all of the farms around Siouxland, it's no surprise the Clay County Fair appeals to farmers.

Fair organizers said there are about 150 vendors selling machinery and more than 30 acres of the fairgrounds display farm equipment.

This means the fair has the largest ag machinery show compared to all other fairs in the United States.

Farmers can find just about anything from a combine to a lawn mower.

"The thing is the Clay County Fair is kind of like Christmas shopping and a shopping mall combined for a farmer. It's a chance for them to see what's newest of all the equipment dealers and also a chance for them to do some comparison shopping and see a lot of different people at once," Clay County Fair Manager Jeremy Parsons said.

"It's really fun checking out the new farm equipment cause you're always amazed at how they can keep improving things," Kent Thiesen, of Spencer, Iowa, said.

Vendors will be at the fairgrounds every day from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. until September 15.
