NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV) -
The Norfolk football team improved to 3-0 with a 42-17 win over Fremont on Thursday night.
After scoring 98 points in their first two wins over, the Panthers had a tougher battle in week three. Norfolk scored first to lead 7-0 in the first quarter. Jacob Hjorth caught a 40 yard touchdown pass on the last play of the quarter.
Hayden Johnson scored on an 11 yard run to give the Panthers a 14-0 lead in the second quarter. Norfolk led 21-7 at the half and added one more touchdown and led 28-10 after three quarters.
The schedule gets much more difficult for the Panthers. Norfolk will host the ninth ranked team in Class A, Grand Island, on Thursday, September 19th. After a visit to Lincoln Pius X on September 27th, the Panthers have another road contest at #5 Lincoln Southeast on Thursday October 3rd.
