UPDATE: Man killed in fatal crash identified


LAFAYETTE COUNTY (WKOW) -- The name of the man killed early Friday morning in a Lafayette County crash is released.

The sheriff's office identifies him as Jay J. Schwartz, 33, of Darlington. Darlington was the driver of a 2011 Chevrolet SUV that crashed on County Highway F near Furnace Hill Road in Willow Springs Township.


LAFAYETTE COUNTY (WKOW) -- A Darlington man dies after a car crash.

A 33-year-old man's name will be released later Friday morning after a car crash in Lafayette County. The crash happened on County Highway-F near Furnace Hill Road in Willow Springs Township.

The investigation shows that the car was southbound towards Darlington when the driver went off the road on the right hand side and over corrected causing the car to travel across the road.

The car rolled at least one time before coming to rest on its wheels. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lafayette County coroner.
