County Attorney says suspected shooter "not unfamiliar" to police

Corey Trott is charged with 1st-degree murder for shooting and killing Rockwell City, Iowa police officer Jamie Buenting.

Officer Buenting approached Trott's home, Thursday night, to arrest Trott on outstanding warrants for serious assault, and 4th-degree theft after he allegedly punched and kicked his mother, Margie Trott, and subsequently stole $300 from her back on September 8th.

Back in 2007, Rockwell City police cited Trott for intimidation with a dangerous weapon, and 1st-degree harassment after he allegedly threatened to kill the Calhoun County sheriff, and members of the Rockwell City police department.     It should be noted that those citations were signed by Officer Buenting.
