SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Morningside football coach Steve Ryan earned the 100th victory of his career when the No. 1-ranked Mustangs beat Nebraska Wesleyan 48-10 on Saturday night.
Ryan is in his 12th season at Morningside, with a record of 100 wins and just 31 losses for a .763 winning percentage -- that's the highest in school history.
Ryan ranks second in Morningside history, 18 wins behind Jason Saunderson, who won 118 games during a 29-year career from 1912 to 1941.
Ryan has led the Mustangs to nine straight playoff appearances.
"I think one of the things I've learned from our players, since I've been here, is the power of belief and what you can accomplish when you believe in something. And, what you can accomplish when your players and coaches believe in you." Steve Ryan said. "And when the belief takes off, how talent and a team can steamroll to a whole new level"
Morningside will travel to Dordt on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff in Sioux Center, Iowa.
