Preschoolers in Sioux City get a new place to play
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Some preschoolers in Sioux City finally have a new playground.
On Wednesday, the ribbon was cut on the Kiddie Crusaders playground at the new Sacred Heart Preschool.
That preschool and play area are situated at Bishop Heelan High School on Grandview Boulevard.
At this point, 11 kids go to the preschool and are enjoying the new playground.
"The main thing is, with preschool standards and stuff like that, a lot of it is climbing and physical activity. So it incorporates all the things that with preschool standards, kids are just supposed to do and have fun. So this is kind of like their recess area," Sacred Heart School Principal Brenda Ferrie said.
"It's huge that they have an area they can call their own, where they can play, run around, get off some steam, some energy," Preschool Teacher Jenny Petty said.
The play area was funded by a grant from MRHD, the Missouri River Historical Development board.
