Some Thurston County, NE schools locked down after threats made


Some schools in Thurston County, Nebraska, spent Friday morning in lockdown after an individual made threats to "shoot kids."

Sheriff Shelly Perez told KTIV her office got a call Around 8:30 a.m. Friday to alert them that schools in Emerson had locked down following threats against children.

A short time later, Perez she heard reports that the suspect was spotted in Pender.

Perez said she called the Pender school to explain the situation and allow school leaders to determine whether they wanted to lock down.

At about 10:30 Friday morning, Perez says the suspect was arrested in Thurston.
We still don't know who the suspect is.

Perez said she couldn't identify the suspect because the investigation is ongoing.
