Sheldon, IA residents victimized by copper thief

SHELDON, Iowa (KTIV) -

The Sioux County Sheriff's Department is on the hunt for the person or persons responsible for a series of scrap metal thefts in Sheldon, Iowa.

Authorities say copper and other metals were stolen during the night at rural residences between September 5th and September 11th.

One of those incidents was caught on camera. A still picture from that video, taken at 4:30 in the morning of September 11th, was released by the Sheriff's Department.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sioux County Sheriff's Department.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may use the text-a-tip program.
