When and what's for sale during the much anticipated Lambrecht auto auction
Posters, tires, signs, and Lambrecht Chevrolet memorabilia will be some of the first things on the auction block.
PIERCE, NE (KTIV) -
The big Lambrecht Chevy auto auction is this weekend in Pierce, Nebraska. With hundreds of cars and tons of collectables, there are so many rare finds up for sale.
Online bidding has already started for many of the 500 cars in the collection. If you've got your eye on one of the pieces of automotive history, you'll want to know when to raise your paddle.
Onsite bidding begins Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
Posters, tires, signs, and Lambrecht Chevrolet memorabilia will be some of the first things on the auction block, including a Chevy Pedal Car also known as the "kiddie Corvette." Dust it off and it's a real collectors item.
The first vehicle that's up for auction is a 1958 Chevy Cameo Pickup truck with one mile on it. The fiberglass box sides makes it a favorite among collectors.
Right after the truck, a fan favorite is up for sale.
"This is a 1978 Indy Pace car," says Yvette VanDerBrink, with VanDerBrink Auctions. "It has four miles on it. Dealers who sold a lot of cars got one of these. It is a brand new car and the plastic is still on the seats."
Once the Corvette is sold, next will be two brand new Chevy Impalas people are buzzing about. A 1963 with 11 miles and a 1964 with just four.
"This is unbelievable," says VanDerBrink. "You just don't find this thing. It may have a lot of dirt and dust on it, but when you blow it off, it's a nice car."
After that, there's a boat load of Belairs and Biscaynes mixed in between Corvairs and Chevelles. Towards the end of the day, you'll have a shot at some tools, parts, and hubcaps.
Sunday is strictly vehicles-more than 340 of them. Up for sale: tons of pickup trucks, more Chevrolet favorites, but also a lot of non-Chevy cars like Fords, Pontiacs, some Studebakers, and a few old Oldsmobiles.
Bidding on Sunday also begins at 9:30 a.m. and runs until the last vehicle is sold.
All the cars will be sold "as is." They aren't cleaning them up or dusting them off.
To check out the cars and everything else for sale, the preview day is Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The auction will take place in a field near the Pierce Community Golf Course.
