UPDATE: Authorities release the name of a truck driver killed after a crash on I-29


Authorities release the name a of a truck driver that was killed after an accident on Interstate 29 near Onawa, Iowa Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities say around five, 52-year-old Marc Sarchet of Cherokee was hauling a crane, when he lost control, crossed the median.

The truck tipped over on it's side blocking both southbound lanes.

Those lanes were closed for about six hours, opening just before 11 o'clock Wednesday night.

Sarchet was airlifted to Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, where he died.

Authorities say the accident was caused by a tire blowing out on the truck.

Which caused the driver to lose control, sliding into the median and tipping.
