PIERCE, Neb. (KTIV) -
While everyone had a price they were willing to pay for at the Lambrecht Chevy Auction in Pierce, Nebraska this weekend, one couple from Norfolk, Nebraska was going to bid on a '66 Chevy Impala until they won.
That's because this car isn't any old used car to the Koehlers.
When they wrecked their Impala on their honeymoon, they bought a new one and put in the engine from the other. They traded it to Ray Lambrecht in 1975.
Wishing they never got rid of it, the Koehlers wanted it back, but it was already in Ray's collection.
So this weekend was their chance. "It's just something that we owned and it's just something we wanted back and we've been wanting to buy it for years and we finally got it," said Jane Koehler.
