PIERCE, Neb. (KTIV) -
Many of the items at the Lambrecht Chevy auction in Pierce, Nebraska went for big bucks over the weekend, including a 1953 Chevy Pedal car.
Only 32 of them were made, and it's a rare collectors item.
It sold for $16,000 and has a history with the Lambrecht family: it's a miniature replica of the '53 convertible Corvette the family used to drive.
"My memories are of me trying to get into the real car. So while my brother was two years old and playing with the toy, I was trying to get into the real car so my love of new cars started early," said the Lambrecht's daughter Jeannie Stillwell
One online bidder in New York bought the kiddie Corvette, and Stillwell says she hopes they will love it as much as she and her brother did.
