Posted:
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

A judge has agreed to drop charges Levon Dean was facing for an incident at the Palmer House Motel in Sioux City after federal prosecutors charged Dean, his brother Jamal, and a female friend in another case.

The Dean brothers, and Sarah Berg, face federal charges after authorities say the Deans broke into a Sioux City home and beat and robbed the man who lived there at gunpoint.

Just a few days later, Jamal Dean shot Sioux City police officer Kevin McCormick in the head during a traffic stop. He is serving a 25 year prison sentence for attempted murder.
