DES MOINES, Iowa (KTIV) -

The harvest of corn and soybeans is starting to pick up speed.  The weekly crop report shows the corn harvest in Iowa is now five percent complete.  61 percent of the corn was mature as of Sunday, behind the average 76 percent.  Corn condition was rated 32 percent good to excellent condition.  Five percent of the soybeans have also been harvested in Iowa.  Beans are rated 35 percent good to excellent.

In Nebraska, the corn harvest was nine percent complete.  Corn is rated 64 percent good to excellent condition.  The soybean harvest is 13 percent complete in Nebraska and the beans are rated 62 percent good to excellent.
