Renovation complete at Morningside performance center

The stage is set at Morningside College.

Tuesday, members of the Greater Sioux City Press Club got a sneak peak at the newly renovated Eppley Auditorium.

The school spent more than a million dollars on the make-over, outside and in.

New carpeting, walls, lights, and sound make the atmosphere more pleasant for audiences and performers.

The new seats are wider, which means there are 100 less of them.

"When the audience previously was sitting and worrying about whether or not their leg was falling asleep or the chair was going to break, and then now all of sudden they get to sit and enjoy in a comfortable setting," said Heath Webber, Associate Dean of Performing Arts.

The public will get the chance to see the renovation in person when the men's choral group Chanticleer takes the stage at eight o'clock Tuesday night.
