South Dakota is averaging just 125 yards passing per game during a 1-3 start.
VERMILLION, S.D. (KTIV) -
The South Dakota football team will celebrate homecoming Saturday with their annual Dakota Days game against Missouri State. The Coyotes are 1-3 with three straight losses, while the Bears come to Vermillion at 1-4, including a loss at Iowa.
Missouri State is 1-0 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, while USD is still looking for their first win in league play since joining last year.
USD hasn't scored more than 16 points in a game this season, and are averaging just over 12 points per contest. The passing game is only averaging 125 yards through the air, and that has to get better.
"We know we can play with them but we've got to play better," said USD head coach Joe Glenn. "We've got to find some rhythm offensively and get some points on the board. I think defensively we're doing some really good things. I feel strongly about our kids, we've just got to find some rhythm on offense and start getting in that end zone."
USD and Missouri State play at 2 o'clock Saturday in the DakotaDome.
