Riverssance Festival to close out RiverCade season with plenty anew

A trip back in time this weekend at the 10th annual Riverssance festival, the last event of the 2013 RiveCade season.

If you like Celtic music, the band Rogues will be back this year to play multiple times throughout the day.

Some of the festivities include full armored jousting, falcon tournaments, and fencing.

There are also several events catering to children, including a children's knighting ceremony and plenty of other new sights and sounds.

"We have quite a few new acts this year. We bumped up a lot of the music acts this year as well as the pirates and various characters on the streets," said Phil Claeys, RiverCade Event Coordinator.

Pets are welcome as long as they're leashed.

The festival is this Saturday and Sunday at Riverside Park.

Gates open at 10am.
