Stories are still trickling in from the Lambrecht Chevy auction in Pierce, Nebraska this past weekend

We now know who is the new owner of one of the most talked about cars at the auction.

Steve Ames from New Hampshire got the top bid for the '58 Cameo pickup truck with just one mile on it.

Ames was in Pierce for the auction and bought it for $140,000.

He talked with us Thursday and says he plans on keeping it in his private collection, but it will have a prominent place in his climate-controlled showroom in southern New Hampshire.

Ames says he loves the story behind the truck and he just had to

"As far as I was concerned, the finest car there was the Cameo and that's the car that should be preserved with a prominence in the industry," says Steve Ames. "It oozes history, phenomenal history,"  Steve Ames said.

Ames says he and his wife plan to put it on display, just as dirty as it is.

He doesn't plan on restoring it, repainting it, or even cleaning it up.

Eventually, he'll open up his entire collection to the public so people can check out the rare cars and the Cameo for themselves.
