SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Just about 24 hours after the storm touched down in Siouxland, damage is still being assessed across Iowa.
The Siouxland Chapter of the American Red Cross loaded up their vans and sent volunteers out this morning to check on damage in Correctionville, Pierson, and Moville.
Red Cross officials say the widespread path of destruction makes it difficult to assess.
But, for now, they are focused on making sure no one goes hungry.
"We treat all disasters the same, whether it be a tornado, flood, single-family fires the same. We do the same training for each," Siouxland Area Chapter Red Cross Emergency Services Director Bob Bartling said.
