Family friendly activities are being held this Saturday, October 12 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Farmer's Market Pumpkin Days

Downtown Sioux City, 8am-1pm

Pumpkin carving demonstrations by Luke Schroder, professional carver, 9am-11am

Discovery Forest Nature Playscape Grand Opening

Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center, 4500 Sioux River Rd.

1pm – 4pm

Join us for the official opening of this $90,000 outdoor play area. Climb the tree fort, play the musical chimes, scramble on the spider web, build with natural tree blocks, discover life in the water and hike a woodland trail. Tour the indoor and outdoor nature exhibits including the live birds of prey exhibit. For more information, call 712-258-0838.

Downtown Walking Tour

Meet in the Public Museum lobby / Museum plaza at 607 4th St.

Led by Matt Anderson, 10-11:15am

The tour will consist of a discussion of historically significant buildings on Nebraska Street, Sixth Street, Douglas Street, Seventh Street, Pierce Street and Fourth Street. These include the Commerce Building, the Orpheum Theatre, City Hall, the Woodbury County Courthouse, the Badgerow Building and many more. They represent some of Sioux City's most outstanding architecture dating from the 1890s through the 1930s.
