A powerful storm, producing tornados, ripped through Siouxland on Friday. With damages in the millions, many will need help cleaning up and help financially. There are several ways you can help out. Here are just a few KTIV has received:
In Wayne, Nebraska, the Dairy Queen is selling "Wayne America Tough" T-shirts. They are $15 each. There is Wayne Tornado Relief Fund set up at a number of BankFirst branches. The money will help homeowners and businesses in the community.
In Bronson, Iowa an account has been set up at the First Trust & Savings located at 315 Cedar in Lawton. You can also call the bank at 712-944-5171.
The Salvation Army is also taking monetary donations. Those should be marked "tornado relief" and can be sent to PO Box 783, Sioux City, Iowa 51102. At this point, the Salvation Army is not accepting donations of clothes or other items.
Folks can also donate money to the American Red Cross. You can send the money to your local chapter. You can also call them at 1-800-RED-CROSS. Donations can also be made by clicking here to their website. You can also text the word REDCROSS to 90999 on your mobile phone. Just a note, the American Red Cross does not take untrained volunteers. If you want to volunteer, you can register to take classes at your local chapter.
