Clean up efforts are still underway after a tornado ripped through Correctionville, Iowa

Clean up efforts are still underway after an tornado ripped through Correctionville, Iowa nearly a week ago.

The students from the River Valley School District organized a clean up day to help out the families affected by Friday night's tornadoes.

At the Linn family farm, winds ripped off their barn's roof, destroyed their silos and uprooted the chicken coop.

Students spread out to several different farms, but at the Linn's they picked up twisted metal and other debris scattered around their farm.

"Delighted, because they have a lot of energy and they move pretty fast and there is a lot of work to do." said Jayne Linn, Homeowner.

Linn says it could take years to get everything cleaned up, repaired, and for her family to bounce back from the storm.

She says they are very thankful for all the help they've received from the volunteers.
