Fallen firefighters honored in Sioux City

Crowds gathered at Sioux City City Hall Friday to honor fallen firefighters.

The mass was full of service people there to honor the fallen.

A bell tolled when each of the names of Sioux City's 12 fallen firefighters were read.

Amazing Grace played as a wreath was walked to the front of the room to honor their service.

"The reason why we do this ceremony is to never forget the sacrifices that these people made, and if we forget that sacrifice that was made, then we get complacent as a fire department and as a community,"said Dustin Johnson, Lieutenant.

The fallen firefighters ceremony first started six years ago.
