Nebraska Auditor candidate outlines goals during Norfolk stop

Nebraska State Senator Pete Pirsch kicked off a 14 day campaign trip in his bid for State Auditor. Pirsch's campaign made a stop in Norfolk, Nebraska Monday afternoon.

He says his main goal in running for the office is to protect taxpayer money from wasteful government spending and mismanagement.

Pirsch outlined how he would accomplish such goal.

"Taking a proactive, educational approach with the agencies and departments to begin with. It's a lot easier to address getting them to do a the correct thing, the proper thing, the efficient thing with the taxpayer money, as opposed to the back end," he said.

Nebraska State Auditor Mike Foley is currently campaigning for the office of Governor.
So far, Pirsch is the only announced candidate for the job of State Auditor.
