Joel Babcock of Nebraska was the lone American killed in a plane crash in Laos.
NORFOLK, NE (KTIV) -
A Nebraska man is among the 49 dead after a plane crash in Laos.
The plane from Laos' state-run airline went down into the Mekong River during bad weather on Wednesday.
A Nebraska pastor to the man and his family said Joel Babcock, 25, died in the crash. The Rev. Glen Wapelhorst of Christ is King Community Church in Norfolk said Babcock's wife, Angelin, also died in the crash.
Wapelhorst said Babcock moved from Nebraska to Laos with his family as a young boy, but lived in Lincoln and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln before moving back to Laos.
