Siouxland man turns down plea agreement, will stand trial

Posted:

A man facing four felony charges has turned down his plea agreement on the day of the deadline.

Fernando Jaimes-Martinez faces a first degree murder charge and three other felonies.

He's accused of firing a rifle into a crowd on Villa Avenue in September of 2012 and killing 27-year-old Karla Gonzalez.

His plea agreement contained a 50 year minimum prison sentence and 150 thousand dollar restitution fee... but Jaimes turned that down.

His trial is set for November 12.
