Centsable Health: Pork Perfection


In honor of October being National Pork Month, we've demonstrated several options you can serve up for your family in the latest segment of Centsable Health.

Steven Peterson is a meat expert at Fareway Foods.  When many of us think about pork, the loin and the tenderloin often come to mind.

They're great on the grill or in the oven.  The pork loin is where many of the chops you'll find in the meat case come from, either bone in or boneless.

A pork blade roast can also make a perfect meal or can be shredded after it's cooked for pulled pork sandwiches.

Last, but not least, a slab of pork baby back ribs is not just great for a meal, they're great for a big gathering or tailgate party.  Peterson suggests adding BBQ sauce after it's done cooking that way it won't burn.

Pork is the most consumed meat globally.  Each market hog represents about 371 servings of pork.
