The Wayne State College women's basketball team was picked to finish third overall and third in the South Division in the 2013 Northern Sun Conference Preseason Women's Basketball Coaches Poll.
Defending NSIC regular season champion Concordia-St. Paul was picked as the preseason favorite in the league receiving 0 first place votes. NCAA qualifier Minnesota State was a close second while Wayne State came in third.
Wildcat junior Jordan Spencer was selected as Wayne State's player to watch in the NSIC this season. The 5'11" forward from Millard West was a First Team All-NSIC selection last season after leading the 17-10 Wildcats in scoring (15.5 ppg) and rebounding (6.7 rpg). Spencer ranked seventh in the NSIC in scoring, 13th in field goal percentage and 19th in rebounds per game. She had five double-doubles last season.
