ESTHERVILLE, Iowa (KTIV) -

Estherville, Iowa, police say they've caught the suspect responsible for vandalizing a bicycle on the Iowa Lakes Community College campus.

It turns out, the culprit was a squirrel that had a taste for the tires, seat and other soft materials on a bike belonging to assistant math professor Matt Strom.

The college's Aviation & Airport Management co-coordinator, Ron Duer, caught the squirrel in the act.

Over two days, the squirrel flattened two tires, and tore up a bike seat. The animal also chewed on the soft silicone buttons, and rubber gaskets, on the bike's headlight and taillight.
