Matthew Hinrichsen is back on the witness stand at his double murder trial Friday in Antelope County District court in Neligh, Nebraska.

He's being cross-examined by prosecutors a day after he surprised the court by deciding to testify.

Hinrichsen is charged in the deaths Of his ex-girlfriend Victoria and her husband Alex Vargas last December.

Authorities say the two had been shot with an AK-47 rifle and their trailer near Ewing set on fire with their bodies inside.

On Thursday, Hinrichsen tearfully recounted the graphic details of the night of the murders.

Earlier, Hinrichsen's mother testified that Victoria was still living in the Hinrichsen home until late October, a week after she married Vargas.

When Hinrichsen found out, he said he went to confront Alex to scare him.

Hinrichsen said he didn't know Victoria was with Alex in the mobile home and he said most of that night is "blurry" in his memory.
