Sioux City police release photo of vehicle tied to attempted abduction

We're learning more about the attempted abducted of two girls in Sioux City Sunday afternoon.  There are now pictures tied to the incident.

It's described as a dark colored SUV, with dark tinted windows.

Authorities say having this picture is just another step forward in the investigation.

Lt. Mark Kirkpatrick, Sioux City Police said, "We have positively identified that this is the suspect's vehicle in this particular case. It appears to be a Chevy Equinox or Honda Santa Fe type vehicle. We have not identified which it is at this point, but we're working towards that. "

Police say the man driving this vehicle, impersonated a police officer and attempted to get the two girls to get into his car in the 2000 block of Court Street.

Police say he showed a badge and told the juveniles they were suspected of stealing from a neighborhood store they had just left.

The man is described as Hispanic, in his 20s, 5',8" tall with an average build.  He also had a light moustache.

Anyone with information is urged to call Sioux City Police or crime stoppers at 258-TIPS.
