Sioux City father admits to hurting two girls with skull fractures

Posted:

Two small girls have multiple skull fractures, and their father admitted to Sioux City police he slammed their heads on the floor.

22 year-old Christopher Schmidt is charged with several counts of child endangerment with serious injury and willful injury.

Schmidt told police he has an uncontrollable temper.

A doctor's examination this week of the two-year-old and seven month old, revealed both had severe skull fractures, but the first incident happened about a year ago.

Schmidt told police he slammed his then one year-old daughter's head against the floor.

Several months later, Schmidt said he did a similar thing to his then three month-old daughter.

In a separate incident, in June, he also admitted to grabbing the same infant by the face and slamming the child's head against the corner of the wall.

Schmidt has a court hearing next week.
