Echo Electric's new home

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - Echo Electric has found a new home, adding more jobs to the Siouxland area. The wholesale electrical distributer is planning its expansion to Yards I-29 Business Park. It's new location is the former site of Floyd Valley Packing Plant.

They are looking to build between 35,000 and 45,000 square foot warehouse and distribution facility, which is valued at over $2.6 million. They currently have 14 locations in the upper Midwest. In Sioux City, they are currently located on 17th and Jackson. Economic Development Director Marty Dougherty says the city is excited about the company's growth.

"This is a great project, good company, good paying jobs and we're pleased that they are going to be expanding in Sioux City" said Dougherty.

They currently have 22 employees. The move will allow them to hire 13 more people.

"We're doing our part to fulfill Governor Branstad's mission of 200,000 new jobs in Iowa" said Mayor Bob Scott.

The company plans to have a development agreement ready for the City Council in early December.
