NELIGH, Neb. (KTIV) -

Matthew Hinrichsen was found guilty of murdering Victoria and Alex Vargas in their trailer home last December then lighting the crime scene on fire.

From the beginning, the defense said it would not refute the evidence, but believed Hinrichsen was only guilty of manslaughter, claiming the murder was not premeditated.

The 12 person jury deliberated for almost four hours before convicting him on all counts.

He'll be sentenced January 28th.

Victim Victoria Vargas' father speaks out about the verdict, and how his family will move forward on News 4 at 6.
