Flu season has arrived in Iowa.

Health officials say right now there are three strains going around.

While the number of cases remains at a low level health officials are urging people to get the flu vaccine.

The vaccine covers all three detected strains.

They say if you don't get it, there's a chance you could get sick with the flu three different times.

Influenza is a respiratory illness caused by viruses.

About 300,000 people in Iowa get the flu every year.
