UPDATE: Authorities identify the driver who died in a fiery crash near Salix, Iowa


A Woodbury County road reopens after a fiery, fatal crash.

County Road K45 north of Salix, Iowa was closed Wednesday afternoon and reopened shortly before 10:00 p.m.

Officials with the Woodbury County Sheriff's Department say shortly before three, a semi-truck and an SUV collided.  One of the vehicles burst into flames.

It happened near 270th Street and K45.

Authorities said the driver of the sport utility vehicle, 63-year-old Katherine Larson of Onawa, Iowa, died in the crash. 

The semi truck driver, 78-year-old Melvin Duff of Earling, Iowa was not hurt.
