Salvation Army launches new website to register volunteers
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
The holiday season is right around the corner and the Salvation Army is trying to make it easier for all those who want to volunteer to ring bells for the Red Kettle Campaign.
They've launched a website called RegisterToRing.com where people can sign up to ring the bells at 26 different sites around Siouxland.
Those who work for the Salvation Army said the site makes it simple for people to help out.
"We're looking to make it easy for folks to help the Salvation Army. And, so, we've created RegisterToRing.com to allow folks to just go out to the Internet at their convenience and look for a place and a time that they would like to ring," Major Von Vandiver, Salvation Army Commanding Officer said.
Last year, the local Salvation Army raised about $190,000 through the campaign.
All of the money raised in the kettles stays in the Siouxland area and provides those in need with things like food, housing, toys, and clothing.
