Western Christian swept Sumner-Fredericksburg to advance to the 2A championship match.
Western Christian and MOC-Floyd Valley advanced to their respective championship games at the Iowa girls state volleyball tournament on Thursday.
The top-ranked Dutch swept #4 Union 26-24, 25-23, 25-13 to improve to 34-6 on the season. MOC-FV will defend their Class 3A title on Friday.
"I'm super stoked. We are so excited," said MOC-FV junior Alyssa Brown. "It was so much fun last year. I love my teammates and we're all just super excited to play in it again. It's an honor."
The Dutch will play number-3 Kuemper Catholic of Carroll (28-4) in the 3A final, Friday at 2 o'clock.
Second-ranked Western Christian is back in the 2A championship match for the fourth year in a row.
The Wolfpack swept Sumner-Fredericksburg (38-4) 25-14, 25-20 and 25-19 to improve to 45-2 on the season.
"We feel like we're very offensive if we can get the ball up," said Western Christian head coach Tammi Veerbeek. "We've really focused on being a strong defensive team. We're going to need those blocks and those touches as we face a big Dike-New Hartford team. But we feel like if we can get touches and get the ball up to our setter good things will happen."
The 2A title match with #1 Dike-New Hartford is Friday at 4 o'clock.
