Battle Creek lost to Doniphan-Trumbull, 49-20, in the Class C2 semifinals on Tuesday.

Battle Creek's bid for a spot in the Class C2 championship game was stopped by top-seeded Doniphan-Trumbull, 49-20, on Tuesday night.
Doniphan-Trumbull would score on their very first possession, but Battle Creek would answer. Derek Renner scored from one yard out to get the Braves within 8-6.
Trailing 14-6 in the second quarter, senior Nate Gray scored on a 10-yard run to tie up the game at 14-14.
But it was all D-T from there. Jordan Slough had a big game for the Cardinals, scoring on a 66-yard lead and the Cardinals would not trail again.
The Cardinal passing game hurt Battle Creek in the third quarter. Quarterback Riley Wiltfong connected with Creighton Buhr for Buhr's second score of the day and Doniphan-Trumbull rolls to a 49-20 victory, ending Battle Creek's season at 11-1.
The Class C2 championship game is Tuesday, November 26 at 2:45 PM.
In Class C1 Boone Central-Newman Grove fell to top-seeded Cozad, 35-7.
