Slick roads may be to blame for fatal crash

Snowy and slick conditions may be to blame for a crash that killed an Iowa man.

The Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened just before 9:45 Thursday night on Highway 30, about two miles southwest of Woodbine, Iowa.  Seventy-five-year-old Rex Rains of Dunlap, Iowa was driving a Dodge Neon when he crossed the center lane into the path of an oncoming semi, driven by 47-year-old Scott Grandstaff of Omaha, Nebraska.  The two hit head on.  Rains died at the scene.

The highway was completely covered in snow and ice.  The Iowa State Patrol and the Harrison County Sheriff's office are investigating the accident.
