ORANGE CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

A group of students at Northwestern College showed their support for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

Saturday at the Rowenhorst Student Center in Orange City, Iowa students gathered for a show of support and to raise awareness for the people of the Philippines.

It was $2 to enter, and there were donation buckets for extra donations.

All the proceeds from the show will go to Kids International Ministries in the Philippines.

The event was organized by Tec Sun, a Northwestern senior who has family in the Philippines.

"I was born and raised in The Philippines, so I feel like I have more of a connection, and I needed to do something for the people I grew up with," said Sun.

The show featured a number of acts, including live music, poetry and improv.
