U.S. Senator Deb Fischer said meeting with people is one of her favorite parts of the job.
Monday evening, she toured Blue Ox and learned more about the company's history and products like the tow bars they make for RV's to pull their cars along.
She also had a chance to speak with employees about pressing issues in politics.
The one she focused on most was healthcare.
"I just think it's really important to be able to have a conversation with Nebraskans. Healthcare is on everybody's mind. We had a couple questions here today about it," Senator Fischer said.
Company leaders said having her talk to employees about healthcare helps answer some of their questions.
"At Blue Ox, it's really important that we try and get our legislators here to be able to speak to our employees. There's a lot of issues that concern our employees. Healthcare and the new healthcare plan is one of them," Blue Ox Vice President Ellen Kietzmann said.
Senator Fischer said when it comes to the future of this issue, she says she "firmly believes that we need to start over."
