When Morningside travels to Baker of Kansas in the NAIA football quarterfinals on Saturday, they'll be facing a couple of big-time running backs.

Baker's top runner is Dillon Baxter, who played two seasons at Southern California. He was the Trojans fourth leading rusher as a freshman. Baxter leads the Wildcats with just over 1,000 yards.

Nebraska-Omaha transfer Cameren Torneden has over 700 yards rushing.

Morningside ranks fifth in the nation in total defense but will be tested.

"They're definitely the best backs we'll see all year," said defensive lineman Bret Doorenbos. "As long as we fill our gaps and stay assignment sound, we should be fine."

"They do a great job with those guys, running the ball," said head coach Steve Ryan. "Then they have an outstanding kicker and they're not afraid to kick long field goals with him."

Morningside and Baker play at 1 o'clock on Saturday in Baldwin City, Kansas.
