Power restored to most MidAmerican Energy customers in Sioux City, Plymouth County

UPDATE (5:45pm):

Power is back to all but 6 MidAmerican Energy customers, in Sioux City, and Plymouth County, following power outage that started at 3:00pm.


UPDATE (5:10pm):

Another 457 of 1,327 MidAmerican Energy customers, in Sioux City, and Plymouth County, have power back for the first time since 3:00pm. No word when power will be fully restored.

Previous story:

MidAmerican Energy officials say 1,366 customers in Sioux City and Plymouth County are without power.

They say the outage started at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday and crews are working to restore power as soon as possible.

Officials say they are still investigating the cause.

Here is the area of the outage:

Northern boundary: 2300 Block of Glacier Road in Plymouth County.

Southern boundary: 2900 Block of Douglas Street in Sioux City.

Eastern boundary: 2300 Block of Glacier Road.

Western boundary: 1400 Block of West 41st Street in Sioux City.
