Colorado school drops sexual harassment from kissing 6-year-old's record

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CNN) -- A six-year-old Colorado boy is back at school after being suspended for two days for kissing a girl on the hand and accused of 'sexual harassment.'

Hunter Yelton made national news and spurred outrage this week after word spread that his school suspended him for the kiss.

And accused him of sexually harassing the girl, two words that went down in his school records.

Following a tidal wave of negative publicity, the Canon City Schools superintendent decided to change the wording in Yelton's file to "misconduct."

Earlier this week, the boy's mother told local news station KRDO she thought the school went too far by putting the term "sexual harassment" in her son's file.

She did say her son had been in trouble before for kissing the girl on the cheek.

The mother of the little girl told the Canon City Daily Record Newspaper that she thought the school did the right thing and was protecting her daughter.
