Zach McCabe scored 8 points in Iowa's 86-76 loss at Iowa State in 2011.
It's a big week for the Cy-Hawk series. The women's basketball teams played Thursday in Ames and both teams are ranked. It will be the same story on Friday when the men's teams square off.
The Hawks won last year but Iowa State has beaten Iowa five straight times at Hilton Coliseum. Two years ago, the Cyclones jumped to a 24-point first half lead and coasted to a ten-point win.
The Hawkeyes last win at Hilton came in the 2003 NIT. Many of Iowa's players were in that game two years and remember the tough night.
"I was there sophomore year. It's a great environment, very loud," said Iowa senior Zach McCabe. "It's just like any road game we've had in the Big Ten. Obviously it's different being in Ames and in Iowa. It will be a great venue. It will be a lot of fun. We know that they're going to go on their runs and we are going to go on our runs. It's just limiting our mistakes and doing what we do best."
Iowa and Iowa State tip-off at 8:30 on Friday night on ESPN U.
