CENTENNIAL, Colo. (NBC) - A gunman is dead and two students wounded following a shooting inside Colorado's Arapahoe High School.
Authorities say a student entered the Centennial school armed with a gun and asked for a specific teacher by name.
"The teacher exited the school immediately, which was, in my opinion, the most important decision he could have made," Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson said. "It was a very good tactical decision to try to take the student with him."
Another student confronted the gunman, was shot and seriously wounded.
"We heard two loud gunshots, immediately closed the door ran into the corner dove on top of each other and tried to get behind the desk," one student recalled afterward.
The campus was quickly placed on lock-down.
Police say the gunman was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
